Czech Museum of Mass Spectrometry
The museum aims to collect and display artifacts related to mass spectrometry, especially those associated with our geographical region. The technical museum shows key components of mass spectrometers used in the past and in contemporary laboratory practice, and it also displays historical documents, photographs, books, etc. The museum's mission is expressed in two words: education and inspiration. It demonstrates technologies hidden behind the cover and inside the vacuum systems, thus allowing a better understanding how the mass spectrometers actually work. Displayed technical solutions, prototypes, ideas, and stories can be inspiring for students, scientists, and designers of instruments.
ExhibitionThe exhibits are placed in illuminated display cases in one of the corridors of the main building of the Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry in Prague — Dejvice. The exhibition is accessible upon request. Guided tours are available.
WebsiteThe website will store the museum database with a detailed description of exhibits and bring topics from MS history.
The Czech Museum of Mass Spectrometry welcomes donations to its collection: instruments or their parts (broken, damaged, unused), and documents, photographs or books related to MS history.
